An iLogic Configurator Built by AI – From Proof of Concept to Beta
"What can AI actually do inside our workflows?" A few months ago this was a proof of concept. Today we're in beta test mode – and one prompt turns into a working iLogic cabinet configurator.
One Prompt Turns Into an iLogic Configurator
The AI builds a working iLogic cabinet configurator in a single prompt: sizing rules, a form with size and finish options, and export buttons wired to rules that produce the drawing PDF and STEP files. Change the numbers on the form and the cabinet rebuilds itself.
“What can AI actually do inside our workflows?”
A few months ago, I was sharing videos of AI controlling Autodesk Inventor through an MCP layer I’d built.
At the time, it was a proof of concept. Today – we’re in beta test mode. This shift is more significant than it sounds, because building a demo is one thing. Deploying technology into real-world engineering workflows is something else entirely.
What started as AI interacting with a single application is evolving into a much broader multi-product environment where information, decisions and actions can move between systems.
What’s been particularly interesting is the level of interest I’ve had from industry. As recently as just a few months ago, most conversations around AI focused on content generation and chatbots. Now more engineering and manufacturing businesses are asking a different question: “What can AI actually do inside our workflows?”
That’s the question I’m exploring, and I’ve continued expanding the platform, adding new capabilities and connecting additional tools into the workflow.
The goal was always practical deployment – helping engineers automate routine work, accelerate design processes and spend more time solving problems that genuinely require human expertise.
The beta programme is already teaching us a lot, because every new user approaches the technology differently and each interaction helps refine how these systems learn, adapt and support engineering work.
We’re progressing quickly and I’m excited about where the technology is going.
The gap between concept and practical application is closing faster than many people realise…
More updates soon.
