ModernCAD Memory
Generic AI doesn't know your business. ModernCAD Memory changes that.
ModernCAD Memory is the knowledge layer behind the Modern CAD Platform. It gives your AI the engineering standards, workflows, templates and design knowledge unique to your business, so every task is completed with the right context – not guesswork.
The knowledge behind every AI session
Generic AI understands engineering. ModernCAD Memory teaches it how your business works. It provides the standards, templates, workflows and proven practices your AI needs to complete work accurately and consistently.
Memory comes with a built-in library of CAD knowledge for Autodesk Inventor, Vault and the Modern CAD Platform, then is customised with your organisation's own knowledge.
How Memory becomes your Memory
It starts with built-in CAD knowledge. These three layers personalise it to your business.
Layer 1
Your company standards
Templates, naming, the checks you run, the order your processes go in. Load them once and every AI session in the company behaves the way your shop works – not the way a generic model guesses.
Layer 2
Your existing designs
DataConveyor – part of the Data Migration and Memory product lines – reads your legacy files and mines the wealth buried in them: recipes, parameters, where things were used. Sessions grounded in your own design history produce dramatically better results.
Layer 3
Each user
Users have individual accounts, so personal preferences and working styles are remembered too. The session knows who it's working with, and each engineer's corrections stick.
DataConveyor: your old designs are the gold mine
Most engineering businesses sit on decades of finished work that nobody can search. DataConveyor, part of the Data Migration and Memory product lines, explores that legacy data – models, drawings, structures, history – and turns it into knowledge the AI can use. That's how "make one like we did in 2019" becomes an instruction that actually works.
And managing the knowledge layer doesn't need a specialist. Clear, easy-to-use apps cover the whole life of the library – mining knowledge with DataConveyor, loading ready-made knowledge packages, and curating and customising what's there.

What it looks like in practice
“Model it the way we model it”
An engineer asks for a new bracket. Before a single feature is created, the session pulls your template choice, your sheet-metal defaults and the checks your drawings must pass – and builds to that.
“Like BR-1200, but wider”
The session finds the nearest past design in Memory – read in by DataConveyor – reuses its recipe and parameters, and flags where it deviated. Your library working for you instead of sitting in folders.
“Check it in properly”
Numbering scheme, lifecycle state, required properties – the session asks Memory what “properly” means in your Vault and follows it, every time, for every user.
You own it. It stays where you put it.
You own the knowledge.
It's private and portable.
You're building an asset, not renting AI.
