How ModernCAD Pty Ltd collects, uses, and protects personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

ModernCAD Pty Ltd (ABN 46 653 365 498) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use moderncad.com.au, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain English — if anything is unclear, email us at info@moderncad.com.au and we’ll answer directly.
We operate under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect
We collect the minimum information required to run this website and respond to enquiries:
- Information you give us — your name, email, phone, company, and the message you send via the contact form or email. If you book a discovery call, we keep notes of what we discussed.
- Technical information — your browser, device type, referring page, and approximate region (country/state level). Collected only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Cookies — small text files stored by your browser. We categorise them:
- Necessary — required for the site to work (theme preference, cookie consent state). Always active.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (
_ga,_ga_*). Loaded only if you click “Accept” on the banner.
We do not collect sensitive information (health, racial origin, political views, etc.) through this website.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry or scheduled call
- To send you a proposal, invoice, or deliverable if we end up working together
- To understand which pages are useful (aggregate analytics only — we don’t look at individual visits)
- To comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations
We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it with third-party marketers.
Who we share it with
A short list of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage stats. Google is covered by the Australia–US data bridge. Opt in or out via the cookie banner.
- Cloudflare — our hosting and DNS provider. Processes IP addresses transiently for request routing and DDoS protection.
- MailChannels (via Cloudflare) — relays contact-form messages to our inbox.
- Our email provider — once a message is in our inbox, normal email confidentiality applies.
We only share data with these providers when necessary to deliver the service, under contractual confidentiality terms.
How long we keep it
- Contact enquiries — 2 years from last interaction, then deleted.
- Client records (invoicing, project files) — 7 years, to comply with ATO record-keeping obligations.
- Analytics — aggregate only; retention set to 14 months in GA4.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong or out of date.
- Delete your data (except where we’re legally required to keep it).
- Withdraw consent for analytics — click the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to change your choice at any time.
- Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we’ve mishandled your information.

If you block or delete cookies, the site will still work — you’ll just see the consent banner again and lose your theme preference.
International visitors
The site is hosted on Cloudflare’s global network, so requests may be served from edge locations outside Australia. Your data, however, is only processed by the providers listed above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California without honouring the local equivalent of these rights (GDPR, UK-GDPR, CCPA).
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be announced via a banner on the site for at least 30 days.
